HURRICANE CARTERS: Beyonce and Jay-Z announced their first tour together, dubbed "On the Run," yesterday with Gillette Stadium stop No. 3 on July 1. Last year, as you'll recall, Jay-Z took in his better half's "Mrs. Carter Show" tour stop in Boston and the happy couple supped at Sam's at Louis. And shopped, of course. Just in case history repeats itself, we plan to stake out the shoe department, eyes a-peeled. Members of Beyonce's Fan Club will have access to pre-sale tickets beginning today and the general sale begins Friday at livenation.com. It's going to be a busy week for pop fans: Lady Gaga plays the TD Garden on June 30, Bruno Mars on July 2.
DON'T FORGET THE MELON: Know what Mom wants for Mother's Day (besides you finally giving her grandchildren)? A nice brunch — say at one of Boston's two noshaterias named in the Top 100 Restaurants for Brunch in America. Cafe Fleuri and the South End Buttery nabbed the Open Table honors. Congratulatory mimosas all around!
HUE GOES THERE: Oh, the things you do when you're running for a U.S. Senate seat — actually run, for one thing. Republican Scott Brown, looking to unseat Democratic Sen. Jeanne Shaheen in New Hampshire, ran the Color Me Rad 5K in Manchester this weekend. The cool part: runners race in white tees and get splattered with color bombs as they trot along. Brown even got to fire some tint torpedoes himself (we think this should be part of every political debate). The splatterfest is all for charity, in this case New Horizons for New Hampshire.
TRACKED DOWN: Patriots running back Stevan Ridley and wide receiver Danny Amendola whooping it up at Mohegan Sun this weekend.
