Paul Morigi/WireImage The celebrity photographer has been accused of asking for sex from British model Emma Appleton in exchange for furthering her career. Terry Richardson might be a world-class photographer, but according to mode! l Emma Appleton he's also a world-class creep.
The British beauty posted a screen shot of her phone to Twitter and Instagram Sunday, displaying a Facebook private message from who she suggests was the famed photographer propositioning her for sex in exchange for a high profile modeling gig.
"If I can f--k you I will book you in (New York) for a shoot for Vogue," the message read.
Appleton posted the photo with the caption "Um what?"
She quickly faced several questions from social media users about the post. Many wondered if it's really the same Terry Richardson — a photographer who has decorated numerous high-profile magazines, fashion houses, and worked with everyone from Kate Moss to Madonna — or if it could have been someone with the same name.
"This industry is f--ked up" Appleton wrote in response to some backlash. "I've been modelling for 5 years and I've never had this before, it doesn't make it okay."
The model later appeared to be uncertain about the ramifications of her post.

Appleton later deleted her Twitter page and deleted the post from her Instagram account. Sunday night Richardson's rep said that Appleton's message was not from the photographer.
"This is obviously a fake," Candice Marks told BuzzFeed. "Terry did not send this text."
His rep has not responded to a Daily News request for comment.
But Appleton insisted to BuzzFeed that her claim — and the Facebook account — was authentic. She deleted her Twitter page because she "doesn't want abuse or attention," the website reported.
Vogue magazine also issued a statement after the ordeal, saying they have "no plans" to work with the famed photographer in the future, despite the message's promise.

It wouldn't be the first accusation of inappropriate conduct from Richardson. In 2010 model Jamie Peck detailed an encounter with the photographer, 48, in which he apparently stripped naked and asked her to perform a sex act.
Other former models, such as Rie Rasmussen, Charlotte Waters and Jenna Sauers have also spoken out against him. But Richardson remains in high demand, especially by celebrities such as Rihanna, Miley Cyrus and Beyoncé.
In March, the photographer penned an open letter to the Huffington Post himself addressing the rumors and defending his work.
"I collaborated with consenting adult women who were fully aware of the nature of the work, and as is typical with any project, everyone signed releases," he wrote on March 14.
"I have never used an offer of work or a threat of rebuke to coerce someone into something that they did not want to do."
