Mick Jagger Tribute: Coldplay Track Fix You Was Written For A Mourning Gwyneth Paltrow Following Father's Death

Chris Martin performed song for the Rolling Stone frontman following death of L'Wren Scott

Coldplay's Chris Martin dedicated a performance of Fix You to Mick Jagger following the death of his longterm girlfriend L'Wren Scott on Monday night at New York City's Beacon Theatre.

The Rolling Stone frontman was left devastated following the death of his partner of thirteen years in March, while he wasn't in the audience it's clear the Coldplay star was eager to send his own condolences to the rocker.

Martin told the crowd "It's for Mick Jagger" before beginning the track. The tribute is made all the more poignant by the history of the emotional ballad.

Chris previously admitted he wrote the track for Gwyneth Paltrow when her father Bruce passed away. Mother in law Blythe Danne revealed to the MailOnline in 2012: "He wrote the song Fix You for Gwyneth when her father died and I weep every time I hear it."

The dedication comes only two days after Mick was spotted in public for the first time since the funeral of his beloved partner.
