'Shield' actor Michael Jace confessed to shooting wife, sources say - Los Angeles Times

Biola University expressed shock and sadness over the death of April Jace, a financial aid employee who Los Angeles police say was shot and killed Monday night by her husband, "The Shield" actor Michael Jace.

In a statement issued Tuesday, Biola President Barry H. Corey said the La Mirada campus was "obviously shocked and saddened by this terrible news, to lose a wonderful colleague, mother and friend."

Michael Jace confessed to shooting his 40-year-old wife at their home in the 5400 block of Brynhurst Avenue in Hyde Park.

The actor, 51, is accused of shooting his wife multiple times about 8:30 p.m. Monday, about 10 to 15 minutes after she arrived from picking up the couple's sons from baseball practice.

Michael Jace was standing in the doorway when police arrived and was ultimately arrested about 2:15 a.m. Tuesday, police said. His wife's body was found in a hallway inside the home. 

The actor did not have a gun when p! olice arrived, Det. Sal LaBarbera told The Times.

The shooting shocked April Jace's colleagues, and the family's neighbors, many of whom said they had never heard the couple fight.
